Plot Summary & Highlights:

In "Two Scoops of Italy," Danielle, a talented but creatively-blocked chef, is facing the potential closure of her restaurant. Desperate for inspiration, she takes her sister's advice and embarks on a journey to the picturesque Italian countryside. There, she meets Giancarlo, a charming local who runs his family's gelato shop. As Danielle immerses herself in the local culture, flavors, and, of course, gelato, she begins to rediscover her passion for cooking. Along the way, she also finds herself falling for the irresistible Giancarlo.

Character Analysis:

Danielle, played by the lovely Hunter King, is a talented chef with a big heart and a passion for food. However, she's hit a creative roadblock, and her restaurant suffers. This setback has shaken her confidence and left her questioning her abilities. Danielle's love for cooking is evident in everything she does. She pours her heart and soul into her dishes, and her desire to create something special is palpable. Her journey of self-discovery and rediscovering her love for cooking is both inspiring and heartwarming.

Giancarlo, the male lead in "Two Scoops of Italy," played by Michele Rosiello, is a captivating character who exudes warmth, charm, and a zest for life. As the heir to his family's gelato shop, he's deeply connected to his Italian heritage and passionate about sharing his love for gelato with the world. Giancarlo offers Danielle valuable advice and encouragement, helping her rediscover her passion for cooking and find her own path.

Nico, the adorable scene-stealer in "Two Scoops of Italy," is a pint-sized force to be reckoned with. With his expressive face and discerning taste buds, he adds a touch of comedic charm to the film. Nico's unwavering devotion to strawberry gelato is hilarious. His dramatic rejections of other flavors are sure to elicit chuckles from the audience.

Themes & Messages:

Danielle's journey highlights the importance of reconnecting with one's passions and finding renewed purpose, even when faced with setbacks. It encourages viewers to pursue their dreams and embrace new experiences that can reignite their spark.

The film showcases the warmth and support of both family and community. Danielle's sister encourages her journey, while Giancarlo's family welcomes her into their fold, highlighting the value of strong relationships and shared experiences.

"Two Scoops of Italy" delivers a heartwarming message about embracing change, pursuing passions, and finding love and happiness in unexpected places. It's a feel-good film that leaves viewers with a renewed appreciation for the simple joys of life and the importance of following their dreams.

Our Favorite Moments:

Dani was basically living her best life through this movie. Not only does she share a name with our leading lady, but she's also convinced Giancarlo is Jonathan Roumie's long-lost Italian cousin.  (We're not saying she's wrong...) She did have a bit of "Savoring Paris" déjà vu, though – apparently, grumpy food artisans are a Hallmark staple?  But let's be real, the real star was that blue dress. Dani's already scouring the internet, hoping to recreate the look. (Girl, we feel you.)

Jessica gave the fashion a solid thumbs-up... except for those yellow capris.  Shudders. Apparently, they brought back some traumatic middle school memories (sorry, Jess!). And let's not even get started on the white sundress lasagna incident. Who cooks tomato sauce in a white dress? Fashion faux pas aside, Jessica was totally charmed by the movie, especially the adorable Nico, gelato critic extraordinaire!

Sherri also hopped on the "Savoring Paris" comparison train (is this a trend?). But she was ALL about Elida and Bruno's subplot. Seriously, Hallmark, give us a spin-off!  Overall, she found the movie charming and left us with the BIGGEST cliffhanger: Will Danielle and Giancarlo live happily ever after?
