Hold on to your whisks! We've cooked up a delicious batch of movies for Episode 23 of Love on the Pod this week. From chocolate Chip Mysteries to Gingerbread Miracles, we're sifting through TV movies with a common theme: baking! Jessica, Sherri, and Dani don't mince words when it comes to their reviews. Will it be a recipe for success? Tune in to Baking with Love on the Pod and find out!
And speaking of baking, it's that time of year again - The Holidays! From now until January, our thoughts will turn to delicious confections, cookies, and pies. Every year, the hosts of Love on the Pod gather for a full day of holiday baking, whipping up batches of our grandma's famous spice cookies and sharing stories while our favorite Christmas movies play on the TV! It's a wonderful tradition passed down through the generations, and one that always leaves us feeling warm and fuzzy, just like our favorite holiday rom-coms!
While it may be a little early to drift off to sleep with visions of sugarplums dancing in our heads, it's never too early to plan for our annual holiday baking day. Some of our favorite recipes are tried-and-true treats from childhood, like Peanut Butter Chocolate Blossom Cookies, with their melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter base and a perfect chocolate kiss on top (just like the ones we used to sneak from Nana's cookie jar!). We also can't resist making a batch of Fantasy Fudge (the original recipe), rich and decadent with swirls of creamy chocolate and crunchy nuts. It wouldn't be the holidays without it! In recent years, we've added some new favorites to the mix, like Oreo Truffles and Cranberry Bliss Bars. And of course, every year we seem to find a brand new recipe to try – this year, I'm intrigued by Gingerbread Cookie Bars. I stumbled upon a recipe with a cream cheese frosting swirl that looks absolutely divine!
What holiday treats do you love to recreate year after year? We'd love to hear about YOUR favorite recipes! Is there a special treat in your family that everyone begs you to make? Share your most cherished holiday baking memories with us! One of our favorites is Jessica's go-to: Betty Crocker's Espresso Thumbprint Cookies. These rich, chocolate cookies have a soft center and are sprinkled with just enough crushed candy cane to give them a deliciously minty crunch. Jessica says they remind her of cozy nights by the fire with her family during the holidays. Danielle's holiday favorite is a tradition in families all over: festively frosted and decorated Rolled Sugar Cookies! Speaking of irresistible treats, one year, a neighbor gifted my mom with some soft, chewy salted caramels. One taste and I was hooked! I tried several recipes in an attempt to duplicate that creamy deliciousness before finally landing on this recipe for Homemade Salted Caramels. One taste and you'll be hooked too!
So grab your mixing bowls and your favorite holiday rom-com, and let's get baking! We hope these baking stories have inspired you to create some sweet memories of your own!
